Start-up fund for Lincoln: reopening a street-food cart after a break-in
Lincoln has run a street-food cart for fifteen years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $3,500 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a street-food cart in Ottawa. In January, a break-in took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $2,100
• Initial stock: ingredients: $760
• Shop repairs and licensing: $310
• Working capital for the first month: $330
Thank you for reading my story.

- Great help in a difficult time
This helper is honest and transparent about what they can do. They didn't overpromise, but they did deliver excellent results. I would definitely trust them again.
