Start-up fund for Lemlem: reopening a bicycle repair shop after a long illness and repossession
A bicycle repair shop in Adama needs help replacing a full set of tools after a long illness and repossession.
🇪🇹 Adama, Oromia, Ethiopia1,260 views
For six years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Adama. In October, a long illness and repossession took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $200 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $60
• Initial stock: spare parts: $80
• Shop repairs and licensing: $60
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
