Start-up fund for Kagiso: reopening a fish stall after a fire in the building
Kagiso lost a freezer and scales to a fire in the building and needs $650 to reopen a fish stall and support the family.

For three years I have run a fish stall in Johannesburg. In March, a fire in the building took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $650 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $240
• Initial stock: the first catch: $145
• Shop repairs and licensing: $105
• Working capital for the first month: $160
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending strength, Kagiso. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best.
Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
Best of luck, Kagiso. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
