Start-up fund for Jade: reopening a barbershop after a fire in the building
A barbershop in San Diego needs help replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors after a fire in the building.
🇺🇸 United States3,652 views
For fifteen years I have run a barbershop in San Diego. In October, a fire in the building took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $1,150
• Initial stock: supplies: $730
• Shop repairs and licensing: $370
• Working capital for the first month: $300
I hope life is good to you.

Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Nairobi
hope it all works out, Jade. Hope this works out for you!
Wishing you the best, Jade. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of San Diego.
Good luck, Jade. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best
Sending good thoughts, Jade. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't give up!
