Start-up fund for Dmytro: reopening a small grocery stall after a fire in the building
Dmytro has run a small grocery stall for six years; a fire in the building destroyed the equipment, and $900 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a small grocery stall in Moscow. In January, a fire in the building took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $900 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $200
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $280
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $420
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

thanks for sharing this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Moscow.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dmytro.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. shop repairs and licensing comes first ($200) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Addis Ababa this morning. All the best
