Jakarta Barat
For six years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Jakarta Barat. In June, a fire in the building took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $250 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $85 • Working capital for the first month: $95 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $70 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Citra

    • Citra Putri KusumaOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. shop repairs and licensing comes first ($85) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.

Hope things get better soon, Citra. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Jakarta Barat.

it takes guts to ask. Well done. After 26 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Jakarta Barat.
