Skylar was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at Savannah University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Skylar is 45, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Savannah University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,500 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,700 • Transport to Savannah University Hospital: $650 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
