Oleksandr was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in March. The oncology team at the Moscow Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Oleksandr is 56, worked as a nurse until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Moscow Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $900
• Scans and lab work: $380
• Transport to the Moscow Oncology Institute: $240
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $145
• Household costs while unable to work: $485

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($900) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
