In May I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. My oncology team at Latina University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 40, I worked as a shop owner until May, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Latina University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $3,150 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,200 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,350 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $210 • Transport to Latina University Hospital: $390 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
