Standing with Manoel: kidney cancer treatment costs
Manoel is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Manoel was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May. The oncology team at Guarulhos Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Manoel is 27, worked as a taxi driver until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Guarulhos Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $690
• Transport to Guarulhos Cancer Centre: $115
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $210
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,035
