Standing with Lasanthi: colon cancer treatment costs
Lasanthi is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Lasanthi was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at Colombo University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Lasanthi is 53, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Colombo University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Household costs while unable to work: $410
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Transport to Colombo University Hospital: $185
