Standing with Kamau: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Supporting Kamau through acute lymphoblastic leukemia: medication, transport to Naivasha Cancer Centre, and living costs while He can't work.
Anywhere in the world863 views
Kamau was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April. The oncology team at Naivasha Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Kamau is 35, worked as a taxi driver until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Naivasha Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,250
• Household costs while unable to work: $290
• Transport to Naivasha Cancer Centre: $120
Thanks for being kind about this.
