Standing with Jide: stomach cancer treatment costs
Jide is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Jide was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at the Badagry Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Jide is 55, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Badagry Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $690
• Scans and lab work: $155
• Transport to the Badagry Oncology Institute: $50
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Household costs while unable to work: $250
