Standing with Francisca: Hodgkin lymphoma treatment costs
4 rounds of treatment are planned at the Rio de Janeiro Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Francisca was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at the Rio de Janeiro Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Francisca is 47, worked as a hairdresser until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Rio de Janeiro Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500
• Scans and lab work: $330
• Transport to the Rio de Janeiro Oncology Institute: $220
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $185
• Household costs while unable to work: $415
Thank you so much.
