Standing with Eleanor: Hodgkin lymphoma treatment costs
Eleanor is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Eleanor was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at Yonkers Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in December. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Eleanor is 51, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Yonkers Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $4,700 goes:
• Transport to Yonkers Cancer Centre: $560
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,550
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $570
• Scans and lab work: $2,020
