Chebet was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in March. The oncology team at Kasarani Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Chebet is 48, worked as a farmer until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kasarani Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $650 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $310 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75 • Scans and lab work: $265 Ask me anything below before you decide.
