Caroline was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June. The oncology team at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Caroline is 31, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $9,350 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $870 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,500 • Transport to Los Angeles Regional Medical Center: $980 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
