Standing with Adrián: kidney cancer treatment costs
4 rounds of treatment are planned at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States850 views
Adrián was diagnosed with kidney cancer in June. The oncology team at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Adrián is 47, worked as a bakery worker until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,700 goes:
• Transport to Los Angeles Regional Medical Center: $880
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $490
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750
• Scans and lab work: $1,580
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Praying for you. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Bronx this morning.
Thanks for sharing this, Manuel. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Take care.
