Standing with Adaeze: cervical cancer treatment costs
Adaeze is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, NigeriaPosted Oct 1, 2026595 views
Adaeze was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August. The oncology team at Lagos Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Adaeze is 44, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $400 goes:
• Transport to Lagos Cancer Centre: $170
• Household costs while unable to work: $155
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
Thanks for reading all this.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Lagos
You're not alone, Blessing. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Greetings from Anaheim
Good luck, Blessing. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Irapuato donated after I showed her your page.
So sorry you're going through this, Blessing. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care
