Abril was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. The oncology team at Sacramento Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Abril is 42, worked as a bank teller until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Sacramento Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Household costs while unable to work: $1,600
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,750
