Short-term room wanted: Rashid in Johannesburg
After a flood that wrecked my apartment, Rashid needs a safe, quiet room in Johannesburg for 2 months while getting back on their feet.

After a flood that wrecked my apartment, I'm temporarily without a home. I work as a bus driver in Johannesburg and I have a steady income, but I can't find a place that will let me in without the first month, a deposit and references that I'm in the middle of replacing.
I'm looking for a spare room for 2 months. I can pay $40 a month toward bills, I'm tidy and quiet, and I'd be happy to help with cooking, shopping or yard work. I have no pets, I don't smoke, and I have three personal and work references.
I understand that inviting a stranger into your home is a big step. I'd be glad to meet in a public place first and to share my work details.
I hope life is good to you.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 17 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Thinking of you, Rashid. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 17 people at work.
This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Makassar so I could bring a meal. God bless
