Septoplasty for Rashmi: covering what insurance won't
After gallstones with repeated infections, Rashmi was cleared for septoplasty, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Rashmi was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Vadodara Community Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $750 short.
my mother has been in and out of Vadodara Community Hospital since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rashmi struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Rashmi won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
