Septoplasty for Kevin: covering what insurance won't
After an aortic valve defect, Kevin was cleared for septoplasty, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Kevin was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in July. The surgeon at Newport Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,100, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,250 short.
my father has been in and out of Newport Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kevin struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Kevin won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
