School supplies and a laptop for Joyce in San Jose
Joyce won a place at San Jose Science Academy but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Year 10 at San Jose Science Academy, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $850, which is more than we have.
I love chemistry and want to become an engineer. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything.
Where the $850 goes:
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $45
• Laptop: $670
• School uniform and shoes: $135
If you're reading this, thank you.
