Nyambura, my mother, passed away on 19 September after complications from pneumonia. She was 22 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,150 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 1 October. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Nyambura to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $1,150 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $710 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $320 • Transport of the deceased: $45 • Memorial gathering for the family: $75 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
