Ayanda, my wife, passed away on 19 June after a short illness. She was 86 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,300 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 8 July. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Ayanda to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Johannesburg hospice. Where the $1,300 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $730 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $490 • Memorial gathering for the family: $80 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
