Sara was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in April. The oncology team at the Stockholm Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Sara is 51, worked as a taxi driver until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Stockholm Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Transport to the Stockholm Oncology Institute: $730
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,250
