Sakda's early-stage lung cancer treatment fund
12 rounds of treatment are planned at Chiang Mai Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇹🇭 Chiang Mai, Thailand165 views
Sakda was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in March. The oncology team at Chiang Mai Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Sakda is 27, worked as a tailor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Chiang Mai Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,650
• Household costs while unable to work: $450
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Scans and lab work: $295
Glad we found this place.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 29 people at work. All the best.
keep going. I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Wudil.
Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Luxor.
Hope things get better soon, Thanawat. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Gdynia.
Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Chiang Mai.
