Rowan needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery

A weekly call with someone who has been through it - that's the whole ask.

I'm six months into recovery from gambling addiction. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Hang in there, Rowan. I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Comilla this morning. Greetings from Comilla

    • Wishing you the best, Rowan. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.

      • Take care. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Los Angeles so I could bring a meal

Keep going. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My husband and I read this together.
