Roofing help wanted: Zoe's home in Birmingham
The roof at Zoe's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a widowed grandmother living in Birmingham. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,250, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Stay strong, Zoe. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Bang Khen so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Birmingham.
Sending strength, Zoe. Shared it with a few friends. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Chennai
You're not alone, Zoe. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Bhopal!
hope you get there. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Birmingham.
Take care, Zoe. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings
