Roofing help wanted: Wayne's home in Soweto
Could you spare a weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Soweto?
🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa861 views
I'm a disabled veteran living in Soweto. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,250, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I hope life is good to you.

So sorry you're going through this. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Bristol
hope you get there. We're a small family in San Francisco but we're thinking of you.
