Roofing help wanted: Souad's home in Shubra
Souad, a home-care aide, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Shubra.

I'm a home-care aide living in Shubra. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $620, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Glad we found this place.

Wishing you peace. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Shubra.
Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Shubra.
