Roofing help wanted: Simona's home in Messina
Simona, a night-shift nurse, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Messina.

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Messina. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,700, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

wishing you peace, Simona. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Greetings from Mumbai.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Nha Trang.
Stay strong, Simona. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
shared this with my family. I hope September is when things finally get easier. All the best
