The roof at Shuvo's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

Cox's Bazar
I'm a home-care aide living in Cox's Bazar. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $330, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. I hope life is good to you.

  • Wishing you the best, Shuvo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Knoxville so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Cairo.

Praying for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Cox's Bazar

      • sending strength, Shuvo. Your post was clear and honest. Sent it to 32 people at work. All the best.

        • Take care. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Newcastle but we're thinking of you. God bless.

          • Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
