Roofing help wanted: Rashidi's home in Embakasi
Could you spare three weekday mornings to help repair a leaking roof in Embakasi?
🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya348 views
I'm a single mother of three living in Embakasi. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $790, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Thinking of you and your family, Rashidi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.
Keep going, Rashidi. Hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
