Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Colombo?

Colombo
I'm a retired bus driver living in Colombo. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $550, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • hope it all works out. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. After 27 years in accounting I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Take care.

    • Rooting for you. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.

Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
