Roofing help wanted: Mercy's home in Nairobi
Mercy, a retired bus driver, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 2-weekend roof repair in Nairobi.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Nairobi. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $640, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Oakland but we're thinking of you. All the best.
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Sapporo.
Rooting for you, Mercy. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Take care
Keep going, Mercy. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.
Praying for you, Mercy. This could happen to any of us. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
