Roofing help wanted: Lydia's home in Bristol
The roof at Lydia's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.
🇬🇧 England, United Kingdom121 views
I'm a retired bus driver living in Bristol. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,450, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I hope life is good to you.

Thinking of you and your family, Lydia. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope November is when things finally get easier.
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care
Sending good thoughts, Lydia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Blessings.
