Roofing help wanted: Luna's home in Albany
Luna, a home-care aide, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 2-weekend roof repair in Albany.

I'm a home-care aide living in Albany. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $4,400, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

hope it all works out, Luna. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
