Roofing help wanted: Lourdes's home in Quezon City
Lourdes, a retired bus driver, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 2-weekend roof repair in Quezon City.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Quezon City. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $720, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
Sending love, Lourdes. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Kathmandu.

Hope things get better soon, Lourdes. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
