Roofing help wanted: Lisa's home in Karlsruhe
Could you spare three weekday mornings to help repair a leaking roof in Karlsruhe?

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Karlsruhe. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,400, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Lagos but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you the best. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Thinking of Karlsruhe.
Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. Please keep us posted. Love from Medina.
Keep going, Lisa. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
You're not alone. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
