I'm a single mother of three living in Ciudad de México. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,400, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over a weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Rooting for you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't give up. God bless.

So sorry you're going through this, Jorge. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless

I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Wish I lived closer to Duque de Caxias so I could bring a meal. God bless.
