Roofing help wanted: Hiroshi's home in Setagaya
Hiroshi, a night-shift nurse, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 2-weekend roof repair in Setagaya.

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Setagaya. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,300, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thinking of you and your family, Hiroshi. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Keep going. I hope things turn around soon. After 6 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Keep going. Hope you get there. I hope May is when things finally get easier. Love from Bornova.
Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Brisbane donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Setagaya
Best of luck. Hope you get there. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
