Roofing help wanted: Harini's home in Kanpur
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Kanpur?
🇮🇳 Uttar Pradesh, India889 views
I'm a single mother of three living in Kanpur. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $640, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Aurora.
wishing you the best, Harini. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Blessings!
So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in London this morning. Love from London.
Thinking of you, Harini. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Sent it to 22 people at work. God bless.
Good luck, Harini. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
