Roofing help wanted: Femi's home in Lagos
The roof at Femi's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Nigeria231 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Lagos. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $420, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

thinking of you, Femi. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
Thinking of you, Femi. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Praying for you, Femi. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My neighbor in San Diego donated after I showed her your page.
