Roofing help wanted: Faith's home in Embakasi
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Embakasi?
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Kenya1,273 views
I'm a disabled veteran living in Embakasi. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $720, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Glad we found this place.

Rooting for you, Faith. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Embakasi
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Khon Kaen
Wishing you peace. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Embakasi.
Thinking of you, Faith. Hope this works out for you. After 18 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Bergamo.
Sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out
rooting for you, Faith. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Take care, Faith. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Please keep us posted. All the best
Hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Sacramento
