Roofing help wanted: Consuelo's home in Kansas City
Consuelo, a retired bus driver, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Kansas City.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Kansas City. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,900, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Good luck, Consuelo. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Kazan.
Hope it all works out, Consuelo. Shared this with my family
Wishing you the best, Consuelo. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in San Francisco but we're thinking of you.
