Roofing help wanted: Citlali's home in Medellín
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Medellín?
🇨🇴 Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia618 views
I'm a night-shift nurse living in Medellín. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,200, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Keep going, Citlali. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Citlali. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
Hang in there, Citlali. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Thinking of you and your family, Citlali. Hope this works out for you. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
So sorry you're going through this. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Jakarta
