Roofing help wanted: Chiamaka's home in Ikeja
The roof at Chiamaka's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a single mother of three living in Ikeja. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $260, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending good thoughts, Chiamaka. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Wish I lived closer to San Diego so I could bring a meal. Take care
