Roofing help wanted: Benjamin's home in Houston
The roof at Benjamin's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.
🇺🇸 Texas, United States712 views
I'm a night-shift nurse living in Houston. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,850, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Stay strong, Benjamin. Shared this with my family. Take care.
Wishing you the best, Benjamin. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Blessings
Hope it all works out. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I hope August is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Houston!
